It all started with our son, Jesse who adored dinosaurs. We would shop for dinosaur toys and not be able to find the ones that we read about in the books. I did a lot of research about opening a retail dinosaur store, but decided to create a website because I did not want to be tied to the retail store as I am a full time mom.

After opening DinosaurSuperstore.com in 2002 it was about 7 months later that our daughter, Breanna suggested creating a horse toy store. She had already thought of the name www.GiddyUpHorsie.com! I thought that was a great idea because I often found it difficult to shop for horse toys and horse gifts for her that she did not already have! This gave me the perfect opportunity to do what I love most, researching for new horse vendors!

I opened www.GiddyUpHorsie.com late 2003 with the famous horse collectable makers such as Breyer Horses and Safari Horse Toys. The plush line that we have always enjoyed is Douglas Cuddle Toy that makes high quality stuffed Horse Toys.

A few months later I started adding horse books, horse backpacks and horse lunchboxes. It seemed no matter where I looked I could find another item to add! I found horse jewelry and horse birthday party supplies! We have one of the best selections of horse birthday party favors on the web today! From horse stickers to horse coloring books, we have made it easy to fill those horse birthday favor bags with horsey items. Our horse piñata is just darling and perfect the young horse lover.

Because her love of horses was increasing I thought that it was time to teach our children to ride so I sent both of our children to Calero Ranch Stables in San Jose, CA. They enjoyed horseback riding so much after attending horse camp that I decided that it was time to buy them their own horses. We found a beautiful ranch in Spokane, Washington that we relocated to in July of 2004 and now own three horses and belong to Pony Club.

Our warehouse resides next to our own barn. This explains the whinnying or knickers that you may hear while we place your order over the phone!

Owning your own horse is the most rewarding experience! It has inspired me to carry Twinkle Horse Glitter products and take a serious look at adding horse grooming supplies and horse tack in the future.

Today www.giddyUpHorsie.com stocks Schliech horses, horse birthday cards, horse models, horse t-shirts, horse sweatshirts, horse gifts, horse games. I’ve started to branch off a bit and carry more adult oriented equine themed gifts such as our beautifully hand beaded horseshoes and horse themed bedding. We even have horse placemats! We have two new vendors that have beautiful model horses to offer too!
